Techno-Economic Investigation of Wind Energy Potential in Selected Sites with Uncertainty Factors

This work demonstrates a techno-economical assessment of wind energy potential for four passes Tamil Nadu (Aralvaimozhi, Shencottah, Palghat, and Cumbum) with uncertainty factors. First, was carried out time-series data, the Weibull parameters, such as c (scale) k (shape), were determined using modern-era retrospective analysis research applications (MEERA) data set. Using these mean speed, most probable power density, maximum energy-carrying speed determined. From analysis, it observed that all had better parameters; notably, Aralvaimozhi pass attained range about 6.563 m/s (mean speed), 226 W/m2 (wind density), 6.403 (most 8.699 (max speed). Further, factors, probability exceedance (PoE), shear co-efficient (WSC), surface roughness, wake loss effect (WLE), evaluated. The value PoE found to be within bound locations, i.e., below 15%. In addition, ranged WSC showed good trend between 0.05 0.5. Moreover, length evaluated recorded 0.0024 m 73% index. output power, annual production (AEP), capacity factor (CF), cost computed different turbine ratings in two cases, without WLE. It there huge profit from locations due WLE estimated Rupees (Rs.) 10.07 crores considering interest components Rs. 13.66 component at 10% rate interest.
